St. Croix Vacation-Part 2

On Wednesday we wanted to relax and play in the pool all day. Anne Bailey loved floating on the rafts and splashing and kicking in the pool. Ruff and I went out Wednesday night to Rowdy Joe's for a little date night while Anne Bailey stayed back at the villa with everyone else. On Thursday we went back to the beach at Cane Bay to play and watch daddy build a turtle in the sand. Anne Bailey promptly destroyed it about 2 minutes later! Anne Bailey was much more comfortable this day at the beach and even walked in the sand for a little. Thursday night we had some yummy pizza at Off The Wall. On Friday we spent our last full day soaking up the sun and playing in the pool. That afternoon we went with DD back to Christenstead for some shopping and a few drinks at Rum Runners, virgin daiquiris for me of course. On Saturday we were so sad to leave so we had to get in one last adventure that morning. All week we had heard about the beer drinking pigs in the rain forest so we went to check them out. Anne Bailey loved them and kept waving and saying "hey pig". Next we headed to the airport for what we thought would be an uneventful flight home. Well I guess we were wrong!

About 20 minutes into our flight we were informed that our landing gear was stuck (in the down position thankfully) and we would have to make an emergency landing in Puerto Rico. After flying in circles for about 30 minutes to waste fuel we finally landed safely surrounded by emergency vehicles and people in hazmat uniforms. Then we were informed it would be about 7 hours before another plane could come and get us. Anne Bailey did great and loved running around the airport all night but it made for a very tired pregnant mommy. Finally we left Puerto Rico at midnight and landed in Atlanta at 4 am. After a few hours of sleep at a hotel we were finally headed home.

We had such a great trip with family and loved making all these memories!

St. Croix Vacation-Part 1

We were so excited to get to spend a week with family in St. Croix celebrating DD's 60th birthday! We left last Friday and spent the night in Atlanta so we could catch an early flight on Saturday. Anne Bailey loved seeing all the airplanes(perplanes as she calls them) at the airport and did great on her first plane ride. Once we arrived in St. Croix the weather was perfect, our villa was beautiful, and we were ready to have fun! We spent the week swimming in the pool, playing in the sand, exploring the island, and eating lots of great food.

We wasted no time getting in the pool and playing Saturday afternoon. Anne Bailey was not a fan of the water at first but got used to it really fast. Bill and Jill came over and cooked a birthday dinner for Daintry that night. They were in St. Croix celebrating their 20th anniversary so it was fun to hang out with them some over the week. On Sunday we played in the pool and relaxed on our first full day. By Monday we were ready to get out and do a little exploring so we went to Cane Bay to play at the beach and eat a yummy lunch at EAT. Anne Bailey wanted nothing to do with the ocean or the sand so she just sat on her towel or in a beach chair playing the whole time. Tuesday morning we went into Christenstead and walked around the harbor and ate lunch at the Brew Pub. We played in the pool all afternoon and then had a really nice dinner at Savant.

We Have A Name!!

After much discussion and pretty much just waiting for Ruff to commit 100 percent we have a name for baby girl #2. We have decided to name her Mary Emerson Thomas and call her Emerson. Mary was my grandmother's and mother's first name so I am so glad she will share that will them. We also love Emerson because it means brave and powerful. We are so excited about our baby girl and cannot wait to meet her in July!!!

Hand Foot and Mouth and 18 Month Checkup

Anne Bailey had to go to the doctor yesterday because of a rash all over her hands and feet. Dr. price confirmed it was hand foot and mouth but said that it is a mild case so she will be good as new by our trip on Saturday. While we were there she went ahead and did Anne Bailey's 18 month checkup so we would not have to come back for our scheduled appointment on Thursday. She weighs in at a healthy 26 pounds and 11 ounces and is developing perfectly. Dr. Price had no concerns about her not wanting to eat much and said she will eat when she is hungry. Anne Bailey did great as usual and we were both very happy when we heard there were no shots at this appointment.

Since we are confined to the house for the next few days we are having fun relaxing, packing, and playing outside.
