Football Weekend in Starkville

Anne Bailey went to her first State game last weekend! We went early on Friday so we could set up our tent on Bell Island. I love hearing the Chapel bell ring and watching everyone race to get the best spots. I am so glad Anne Bailey was there to experience it. Once we got our tent set up we walked around all our favorite spots on campus and then went to Little Dooey for a great dinner!

Saturday morning we went to The Starkville Cafe for some yummy pancakes. After a quick morning nap we headed to our tailgate to meet the Rowlands. Anne Bailey had such a great day playing with Kennedy and Mary Morgan. She also loved strolling through The Junction and watching everyone. Considering she had no afternoon nap she did really well! She also loved going to the game!! She has so much fun pointing to the field and jumbotron and clapping when we did something good. Of course everyone thought she was the cutest thing and was so well-behaved. I had the best weekend with my family and can't wait for many more weekends in Starkville! I hope Anne Bailey will love it as much as we do!

First Steps!!

Anne Bailey took her first steps today all by herself!!! She was standing up and I held out my arms and said walk to me and SHE DID!! She took about 3 or 4 steps towards me. She was so proud of herself that she got the biggest smile on her face and started clapping. Of course I started tearing up and had to call Ruff immediately and tell him the exciting news. We are just so proud of her and love experiencing all these special moments with her!

We have been practicing all day. It is very fast so these are the only two pictures I have of her.

Yay! I'm walking!

Such a big girl!

Playing with Friends

Anne Bailey has been a busy little girl lately. She has been having lots of fun playdates with her friends. On Friday she had Tatum Dabbs and David Hauser over for a lunch date. They had so much fun talking and playing with all of Anne Bailey's toys! Of course, Laura, Jordan, and I had a great time talking too.

On Saturday we had another fun playdate when we had some friends over to watch football. We were so excited to get to visit with the Carrs and for Jack and Anne Bailey to play. They are so sweet with each other and have lots of fun. We love fun weekends with great friends!!!

AB, David, and Tatum

This was pretty much the theme of the day. They all wanted to play with whatever toy the other one had.

Wouldn't these two make the cutest couple one day in the very far future?

Doggles?!?

It was such a beautiful day on Sunday so we headed to the Buffalo Park to visit with all the animals. We have been once before but this was the first time Anne Bailey was old enough to know what was going on. She loved it!!! She smiled, laughed, and pointed at all animals. The cutest part is when she points at them and tries to name them. Pretty much every animal is a dog right now except for goats. According to Anne Bailey, goats are Doggles! We have no idea where she got this from. She started calling them that a couple of weeks ago at Goat Island in Pickwick. It sounds so cute when she says it that now the whole family calls them doggles.

Ready to see some animals

Mother's Day Out

Anne Bailey started Mother's Day Out this morning at Calvary Baptist Church. I have been looking forward to this for weeks thinking about how great this was going to be for both of us! When I woke up this morning I felt completely different. I was so sad and nervous about being away from her. What was I going to do without my little sidekick all day?

Anne Bailey woke up happy as usual this morning and had no idea what was about to happen. When we arrived she was smiling at everyone and looking at all the other kids and then when I handed her over to the teacher she started screaming! She was crying the biggest tears and it was so sad that I started crying too!! Next thing I know they are pushing me out the door so that I didn't make it worse. I really didn't expect it to be so hard!

Thankfully she stopped crying once I left and was back to her happy self. She did so good all day and ate and napped well. Her teachers said she was such a little entertainer and read books to the other babies and showed off all of her tricks. I also did great after crying to Ruff on the phone and found plenty to do with myself all day! I think we will be ready for next week!

Studying up for her first day at "school"

No Hands

This week Anne Bailey has been practicing standing up without any help. Usually when she realizes she is standing by herself she gets nervous and will drop to her bottom. Today she has had a little more courage and decided to stand up using no hands. I think any day now she may even start taking steps by herself. Our baby is growing up! We are so proud of her!

She is also a multitasker! Standing, Drinking milk, and Watching Baby Einstein

Look mom, no hands!

Football Season is Here!!

Anne Bailey is very excited about football season this year. She has been practicing ringing her cowbells for several weeks to get ready. Sadly she will have to cheer on the Dawgs from Tupelo with Big Mike and DD while Ruff and I go to Memphis tonight for the game. Looking forward to a great season! Go Dawgs!!
